My favorite part about the book Speak is that it's realistic. It's not like on of these other books that try to be realistic, but isn't. It shows how high-school really is. I wish they would've let us know what she did over the summer to lose all of her friends. It was obviously something bad because they have been treating her like crap. I really like the book so far. I just hope they tell us what happened soon. I don't like surprises. And I don't like wondering.

My first weekend on spring break I spent getting hours put o my check. On Monday and Tuesday I spent it with Jay just watching Netflix and playing 2k. Wednesday night I had to go into work, but my moms "boyfreind/ husband" whatever you wanna call him, is also my manager and he didn't like what I had to say to him so he sent me home. Then Adison came up and we "Hung out' we listened to music and was messing around most the time. We all fell asleep early and woke up at like 3 am.
Thursday we spent the day in the house and just got our energy back. Adison's mom brang us tacos and then took her home. After she left, me and my sister went to play catch. It's not as fun as it used to, so we went back inside after 20 minutes and watched netflix. Friday I slept the whole day and didn't really do anything. Saturday and Sunday I also put in more hours. Saturday after work Abby, Kj, Jay, and I all went to Kj's 17th birthday party at his house. Me and Abby watched the boys play 2k then they told us we have to play against each other and they bet on us who would lose and who would win. I ended up losing because Abby had Kj's help. We played till about 8 then went back to our house till 10:30 then the boys called a cab home. Sunday after work I was so exhausted and worn out that I went straight to sleep. The similarities are, they both are about the holocaust, both have young boys , somebody dies in each, they have the soldiers being mean to Jews, The Jews get treated poorly and fed less than they need, the Jews are weak, and The crematorium and camps descriptions are the same.
The differences are that one is from a Jews point of view and the other isn't. The father dies in Night and in The boy in the striped pajamas it was Bruno and Shmuel #1 Contrast and Contradictions. 82 He decided to go with his father instead of staying in the infirmary and healing. I think he went with his father because he didn't want to split up and he knew the Russians would be there soon, but he probably didn't believe the doctor when he told them that they'd be safe in the infirmary. #2 words of the wiser 110 The Blockalteste told him he needs to focus on himself and himself surviving instead of his dad too. The life lesson is, sometimes you have to only focus on yourself and surviving no matter how much you care about the other people. #3 contrast and contradictions 111 The father wouldn't eat the soup, instead he would only drink water even tho it wasn't helping him. I think his dad did that just so Eleizer could focus on himself and him surviving, and so he didn't have to keep suffering through the pain when he knew he was gonna die soon. If I were president the first thing I would want to change or stop is the wars and would try to make peace with other countries. Once there's no enemies then the wars would stop and we would have plenty of places to import from and export to. Which would make more money. Then that money could be used on better things. Things that would help our country instead of hurting it.
The second thing I would do is make college free or cheaper so more people could go and get an education. There are so many smart students that want to go to college, but they don't have the money for it. This could tie back to the first one. Some of that money could be used for college expenses. With more students in college getting a good career that means more workers. That would help a lot with this country. Another thing I would do is legalize marijuana in all 50 states. It may not be a priority, but it would clear out prisons of the people that are in there taking up space for possession, drug dealing, and use of illegal drugs. It also can kill certain cancer cells, which means not as many cancer patients. It helps with depression and anxiety which would drop the rates of depression and anxiety in our country and less people depressed. I know a lot of you may not agree, but legalizing marijuana would help with quite a few things. If it were legal than the states and country would make money and profit off of it too. The first part of my break all I really did was watch netflix and do what I always do. Fse. Some of my freinds came over and stayed with me. On Christmas we went own to my grandpas and made dinner. For Christmas I finally got my Uncle Brad's thumbprint necklace from my grandparents on my dads side. We didn't tell them what we wanted so they just gave us a card with $125 on it. We didn't tell our mom what we wanted either, but we still got her something.
On New Years we had some freinds over and they spent the night, we didn't really do anythign differently than when they usually come over. I started my job and went through training. I had to work New Years Eve and New Years at 8 am though. I was not happy about that at all. I was tired asl. In the article they explain and name off 8 Life skills they think 18 year olds should know. There are plenty more that they should know ther than thse, but thse are what they focus on. They say they should be able to talk to strangers, find their way around a campus or town, managa assignments/workload, contribute to running a household handling interpersonal problems, cope with ups and downs, earn and manage money, and take risks.
I agree with soem of these, but I think they shoul dhave different ones than these. Instead of talking to strangers they should be more able to things that are more useful like how to change a tire, changing oil, writing a check, setting up a bank account, how to get a loan, and household skills. There are plenty of things that schools and streets teach students and adults, but they forget the main thigns they will use more in their life. The biggest problem I have with the school rules has to be the dresscode. It's not logical on some things. Like no bra straps showing. They are teenage girls. They have boobs growing. It's isn't a big surprise. It is a natural thing, for some girls. Some jsut don't have any. Another reason I have a problem is girls can walk around with half of their butt showing without getting dresscoded, but the second a girl wears a shirt that shows a littlle bit of their stomach or their bra strap, they're instantly dresscoded. But then boys can go wear whatever they want with no problem because they don't have to wear bras. GIRLS DID NOT SIGN UP TO HAVE BOOBS. They have no coice. They have to wear over the shoulder boulder holders. Thank you.
There aren't that many things that I am very thankful for, but these are the main ones.
